At Salted Horse Management Group, we're dedicated to fueling business success through strategic consulting and innovative growth solutions. We're currently seeking a skilled Certified Business Valuation Administrator to join our team as an independent contractor.
This hybrid position offers exceptional flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects for our diverse client base in private equity and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Valuations
Perform detailed business valuations for private equity firms and SMBs using industry-standard methodologies including discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, and asset-based approaches.

Financial Analysis
Analyze financial statements, market trends, and operational data to deliver precise, well-documented valuation reports that withstand scrutiny and provide actionable insights.

Strategic Collaboration
Work closely with our consulting team to integrate valuation findings into strategic planning and growth initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
Additional Responsibilities

Compliance Assurance
Ensure all valuation processes and deliverables adhere to relevant standards and regulations, including USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) and IRS requirements.

Client Insights
Provide detailed insights and recommendations to clients regarding value drivers, potential improvement opportunities, and strategic decisions that could impact business value.
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Business Valuation credential (CVA, ABV, or equivalent) from a recognized professional organization
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in business valuations, specifically with private equity and SMB clients
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and valuation tools
  • Excellent communication skills for clear, concise client-facing reports
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment while meeting deadlines

QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification
Having QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a significant advantage for this role. This certification will allow for seamless integration with client accounting systems and enhance your ability to extract, analyze, and interpret financial data efficiently.
Beyond QuickBooks expertise, we value candidates with experience in specialized valuation software such as BizEquity, ValuAdder, or BVM Pro. Familiarity with industry-specific valuation methodologies for sectors such as manufacturing, technology, healthcare, or professional services is also highly beneficial.

Contractor Relationship Details
This is a performance-based independent contractor role with compensation based on project completion rather than hourly work. As an independent contractor, you'll maintain the flexibility to work with other clients while meeting our project deadlines.
We offer competitive rates based on your experience level and the scope of each project. Typically, our valuation projects range from comprehensive business valuations for M&A to targeted valuations for specific business units or assets.
